Friday, Hawaii and Georgia battled it out for a spot in the final four at the 2010 Little League World Series (LLWS). Hawaii came from behind beat the Georgia team, 12-5. The boys on the Hawaii team could not have been happier, and their coach yelled, "Be humble!" as the boys screamed and cheered in their excitement.
Thursday, Waipahu, Hawaii beat the Columbus, Georgia team 7-4 at the 2010 Little League World Series games. But double elimination allows each team to play at least three games at the LLWS, and they played each other again on Friday to compete for that last spot in the final four teams.
Thursday, Pearland, Texas beat and eliminated Auburn, Washington in the LLWS and they will move to the US Championship game scheduled for Saturday.
Chinese Taipei will play Tokyo, Japan and the winner of that game will play the winner of Saturday’s US Championship game for the title of 2010 Little League World Series champions.
The LLWS is currently underway in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and will continue through Sunday, August 29 when the final championship games are played. The LLWS started with eight international and eight US teams.
Saturday’s LLWS games:
The US Championship game: Waipahu, Hawaii vs. Pearland, Texas
The International Championship game: Japan vs. Asia-Pacific
The winner of these two Saturday games will compete on Sunday for the Little League World Series final game.
