Hawaii Five-0 original on ch 23.2 KOKIDTV2, while ch 6.1 KOTV shows new remake

CBS is running a new remake of Hawaii Five-0 classic episode, "Hookman", on Feb. 4, 2013 at 9 p.m. and MeTV is jumping on the bandwagon by showing the original episode the same day at 11:00 a.m. on ch 23.2 KOKIDTV2.

While most shows try to avoid insulting the handicapable, “Hookman” is about (spoiler alert) a man which had both arms blown off by the police and he is set for revenge. Peter Weller (“Robocop”) stars as Hookman in the remake while Jay J. Armes played him in the original. Jay J. Armes was a real double amputee while Weller will use a stand-in. In the original McGarrett was one of the cops responsible but in the remake McGarrett is a Navy intelligence officer turned head of 5-0 and was never a police officer. They have, in the remake, McGarrett's father as one of the officers responsible. McGarrett's father, however, was killed in the first episode of the remade series making revenge difficult.
