The CBS detective TV show “Hawaii Five-0” airs each Monday night at 10/9 p.m. (check your local listings). It is a remake of the original ‘Five-0” starring Jack Lord that ran for 12 TV seasons (1968-1980). The new TV show was rebooted in 2010 & stars Alex O'Loughlin (Steve McGarrett) Scott Caan (Danny 'Danno' Williams), Daniel Dae Kim (Chin Ho Kelly), Grace Park (Kono Kalakaua) & Masi Oka (Dr. Max Bergman). Monday night’s episode Feb. 11, 2013 was called, “Kekoa” which translates into the word ‘Warrior.’ A daughter’s father who is a traditional “Kekoa” is brutally murdered which leads McGarrett & his team toward an underground illegal ‘Fight Club.’ Meanwhile, McGarrett hires a private investigator to follow his mother.
The chemistry between the main cast members comes alive when they stand around a computer table. They all feed off each others words & blend together beautifully as they solve the murder of a decent & law abiding father. More evidence is uncovered through video surveillance & photos analyzed by ‘Five-0’. They discover that the daughter has been hiding a secret that comes from a cultural tradition of martial arts fighting which is of course the “Kekoa.”
The daughter is forced to explain the traditional world in which she grew up as a martial arts fighter. She was taught by her dad to fight for protection only. That world is interrupted by a ruthless illegal ‘Fight Club’ killer who matches up men & women to fight to the death while spectators pay money to watch. He kidnaps the daughter & forces her to fight for her life in an underground ring. She decides to protect herself & the fight sequences are brutal as bones are broken & blood is splattered from the two women. - Will ‘Five-0’ solve the murder of the “Kekoa” father? - Does the daughter survive the ‘Fight Club’? - What is McGarrett’s mother up to?
