More exciting than your standard fire-drills are the random searches for drugs at our area high schools. And yesterday (Feb. 23,) Havre de Grace High School in Havre de Grace, MD was the lucky recipient of a random and routine drug dog scan. The search was restricted to cars parked in the high school parking lot.
According to Harford County Public Schools, the scan involved 20 cars being scanned by the drug sniffing canine and lasted for 15 minutes. And the good news is that the scan did not result in any alerts for controlled dangerous substances.
The scan, done as part of the school system’s commitment to keeping illicit drugs out of the schools, was accomplished using a canine under the direction of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. ~HCPS
