Having Smoother Skin with Micro Needling and Derma Rolling

We are living in a world where everyone wants to look young, smart and sexy. The confidence level of individuals automatically drops when they realize that they have a flaw in their body. There are lots of skin problems that have become common amongst people because of the UV rays that have gotten intense. Acne scars, stretch marks, wrinkles and cellulite all have a tendency of marring the skin, which is something everyone wants to avoid. While there are lots of products that claim to eliminate these problems, they aren’t effective all the time. Now, there is a new kid on the block by the term of micro needling.

Also known as micro-needle therapy or skin needling, it was originally pioneered by Dr. Desmond Fernandes, a renowned South African plastic surgeon. The primary concept of this therapy was to encourage collagen production and skin cell regeneration. It is regarded as an intense skin needling treatment that’s usually performed by a skincare professional. Therefore, it has also earned the name of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). Basically, a hand-held skin roller, called the derma roller is used for performing micro needling. It has several fine pointed needles that are used on the skin’s surface.

As per an expert from Melanopeel.com The length of the needles that are used in the derma roller are between the range of 1mm and 3mm and only the topmost layer of the skin has to be penetrated with these needles. The natural wound healing process of the skin is activated with micro needling as small punctures are created in the skin with the help of the needles. This is helpful in boosting the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen in the epidermis layer is stimulated by the small puncture wound and some of the blood vessels that are located directly below the skin’s surface are broken by them.

The production and development of elastin and collagen occurs because the blood starts clotting. These critical elements are essential if individuals want their skin to be revitalized. A lot of people regard this therapy as a bit drastic, but micro needling with a derma roller doesn’t have any outward trauma effect. It is only mildly uncomfortable for people because professionals typically use a numbing cream, especially for individuals who have sensitive skin. The mild uneasiness is worth it because people will suffer from no skin damage and will get the most firm and tight skin possible.

The best part about micro needling with derma rolling is that it can work for the different types of skin easily. Individuals can have the smooth and tight skin that they have dreamt of because the appearance of scars is minimized, blood flow is increased to areas that were healing poorly and wrinkles and fine lines also vanish. Moreover, serums, moisturizers and lotions will be able to penetrate the skin in a better way after that. Usually three treatments of micro needling therapy is required and the effect of derma rolling can be seen in about 30 to 60 days.
