To be an eBay entrepreneur, it takes time, commitment, and self management to make it all work. Making this a full time business is a dream of many, but the truth is, many quit. Why do they quit? Frustration, lack of profits, disinterest, and time are the most common reasons why some ebayers give up. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
One of the most common questions I get is surrounding time. People ask me how I manage my time, and actually have a life beyond eBay. Along with eBay, I have several other projects going on, so juggling life seems crazy at times. To answer the question, “How do I manage my time”, I actually have a little help. I use a Virtual Assistant to handle a lot of my daily tasks.
I know I have talked about using a Virtual Assistant before, but I thought it would be a good idea to do a deep dive into the benefits and Return On Investment (ROI) in hiring a VA. One of the best feelings is waking up and knowing your “To Do List” is already done. My favorite service so far is a company called Red Butler. They are affordable, dependable, and quick in completing your task. Lets look at some ways that they can help you grow your business, and actually give you time back in your life:
Hot Products: I use their “Genius” service to have them find hot selling products for my eBay business.
Competition: If you sell a to a certain niche then you can have Red Butler do research on your competition and give you insight that can help your business grow.
Listing Price: If your item is not selling, Red Butler can take a look at your listing, do the research, and tell you what an appropriate price should be.
Wholesale/Dropp Shippers: There are a lot of wholesalers out there and not all of them are legit. Red Butler will do the research for your and give you a list of reputable wholesalers and drop shippers.
Keywords: We all know that keywords play a huge role into who sees your listing. Researching these keywords can take time, so a virtual assistant can do this work for you.
Blog: One topic that I have talked about before is having your own blog to promote your items. This is good for multiple reasons, but it can take up a lot of time. Red Butler can manage this for you and create new blog posts as long as you have a VIP membership.
Images: Ah, the dreaded picture taking. Sometimes this can take just as long as listing your item. Cropping, resizing, color correction all take up time. You can send them to Red Butler and they can do the work for you.
Responding to Customers: Red Butler can’t speak for your brand, but they can come up with a very professional response to a customer. I use this for difficult customers who may be on the fence of a negative feedback.
Feedback: If you are like me, I sometimes slack on leaving feedback. There maybe times that I log in and I have over 100 feedbacks to leave. Even if you use the same response for each feedback, it still takes a lot of time to copy and paste each feedback. Why not delegate this time waster.
Negative Feedback Removal: It happens to the best of us. We may get a negative feedback from time to time. Red Butler can go through the process of getting this removed for you.
Return Policy and FAQ: Red Butler can write a professional return policy for you, and do the same thing for a FAQ section on your eBay store.
List an Item: They also can go through the whole listing process for you. They can come up with a great title, find a stock photo, write a stellar description, do research for the price that your item should sell for, figure out the shipping price, and finnish the listing process for you. (This will use multiple credits)
They have several plans for you to choose from, but I highly recommend the VIP service. The VIP service comes with a dedicated assistant that learns your needs and preferences. Also, with VIP, they give you document creation, which is needed for them to create any descriptions or return policies.
Besides using them for eBay, they also have saved me a lot of time in my personal life. Its funny, before Red Butler, I would sit on the couch after Jack went to bed, and be on my phone or computer working until I got tired. Now, I actually have time to hang out and relax, work out, cook, or do anything else I want. It’s nice .
As you can see, they have services that start out at $19.99 a month, but I recommend the VIP, which is $249 per month. So lets look at your Return on Investment with this virtual assistant service. For me, they have increased my sales and profit about 25%. They allow me to list more items and list them with the most effectiveness. This may not be for everyone, but I think it’s worth trying them out. There is no contract, so you can cancel your service at anytime. You can check them out HERE.
