Yoga Tree has been San Francisco's premier yoga source for over 13 years. Founders, Tim and Tara Dale, now proudly own seven studios across the Bay Area.
The most recent yoga studio to join the five studios in San Francisco and one in Berkeley is the Yoga Tree Corte Madera, located in The Marketplace in an easy-to-get-to location off the freeway and is centrally-located for your early morning wake-up, lunchtime revival, evening prana flow--and everything in between.
As you enter the nature-inspired studio, you feel transformed with an elegance that soulfully calms, yet begs you to enter deeper into a Northern California redwood forest of tranquility. The beautiful mural photograph by artist Russ Eddy was what set the tone for the evolution of the studio design, according to Danielle Hirsch, interior designer, who made it all happen.
With eco-friendly tiger-striped bamboo floors originally grown in China with roots deep here in Northern California, Danielle was attracted to the bamboo's Chinese symbolism of longevity and Indian token of friendship. She paired these floors with a warmth that replicates misty fog hovering gently over the Golden Gate Bridge gazing toward Marin when backlit by the sun.
Carrying through with the auspicious theme, the exposed beams in the studio are painted "golden gate" red, while pendant lighting made of bamboo stems adorn the ceiling. The wood shelving in the reception area, made of reclaimed redwood, complements the desks and the chalkboards housed in old Indonesian frames.
