If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, there are several events scheduled for the weekend that should interest Gainesville families.
Santa Fe College is hosting a Family Fun and Safety Expo Saturday, May 22 from 11-3 pm. The event will be held at the college's North Field at the corner of NW 39th Ave. and NW 91st St. Admission is free. Families can enjoy games, activities, and food. Free safety resources such as medical screening and emergency identification locator kits will be available.
The 1st Annual Gainesville Community Mental Health Fair will be held Saturday, May 22 from 12-4 pm at Sarkis Family Psychiatry - 529 NW 60th Street (adjacent to the mall). Health and educational professionals will be available to answer questions. Free screenings for ADHD, anxiety and depression will be available. There will also be games and activities for the entire family. Visitors can attend free educational seminars on important mental health topics.
There will be an Arts and Crafts show at the Alachua County Fairgrounds. The event is free to the public and will include over a hundred arts and crafts vendors, food, live entertainment, a Kids Zone, and free live entertainment. The show will be open Saturday from 9-6 and Sunday from 9-5.
Kanapaha Botanical Gardens will be hosting a Moonlight Walk Saturday, May 22 from 7-11pm. Sections of the garden's walkways will be lit by 1500 luminaries and paper lanterns. Live entertainment will be provided at the stage pavilion. Regular admission rates apply.
