An official announcement is expected to be forthcoming soon on the George Harrison “The Apple Years 1968 - 75” box set that was first hinted at recently by Dhani Harrison, but early sale listings have popped up on some foreign Amazon.com sites, as well as a cover. We found it listed in the UK, France, Italy, Japan and Germany, but not yet in the U.S. or Canada. Amazon.co.uk's current price of £87.99 translates to $146.08 USD. (Update: You can now order it from Amazon.com here.)

The website “Let It Rock” had the best set of what are still some sketchy details about the set. According to this unofficial information, the set will feature seven CDs – “Wonderwall Music,” “Electronic Sound,” “All Things Must Pass,” “Living in the Material World,” “Dark Horse” and Extra Texture,” all remastered with the last two albums premiering as upgrades.

Both “Dark Horse” and “Extra Texture” will include bonus tracks, “Let It Rock” says. “Dark Horse” will feature “I Don't Care Anymore” and an alternate version of the title song. “Extra Texture” will have an alternate version of “This Guitar (Can't Keep From Crying).”

The DVD will reportly be new video material, but no further information was available. The set will also include a hardcover book. The Amazon sites have the release date listed as Sept. 19, but with the release date fast approaching so soon, it could be incorrect. You'll recall Sept. 30 was shown as the release date for the new McCartney remasters for several days until the official announcement came that they wouldn't happen until November.

In any event, more details will be available when the official announcement comes. Which looks like it'll be very soon.
