Have control over stinking feet

Human feet have about 5, 00,000 sweat glands. The sweat produced by them is quite stinky in some people. Often caused by growth of bacteria, it can be quite embarrassing. People use a multitude of products to gain control over the stinking smell but majority of them fail to produce significant results. Brew two tea bags in warm water. Soak your feet in it for 10 minutes per day for a week. Tea contains tannic acid which helps in getting rid of sweating and foot odor. If it again starts stinking again, repeat the procedure. Once the problem subsides, soak in the preparation once every week.

Make a mixture of vinegar and hot water by mixing ½ cup of white vinegar in it. Soak feet for 20-30 minutes. Rinse well to prevent vinegar smell. Dry thoroughly.


Dry feet after the bath and apply alcohol with a cotton ball. Alcohol acts as an astringent.


Alum has antiseptic properties i.e. checks growth of bacteria. Mix a teaspoon of alum powder in a cup of warm water and rinse your feet with them. Dry and apply some alum powder. Repeat this daily.


Drop two tablespoons of bleach to a gallon of warm water. Soak your feet in this water for 10-15 minutes every day for a week. If you see your skin drying, apply some moisturizer or oil to replenish the lost moisture of the skin.

Baking soda

Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate reduces the amount of bacteria by neutralizing the pH of sweat. Immerse your feet in a pail of warm water for 15-20 minutes before going to bed. You can also try sprinkling baking soda in your socks and shoes before wearing them.

Lavender oil

The aromatic oil is an excellent foot odor cure. It has anti-bacterial properties needed for combating the smell. Pour a few drops of lavender oil in warm water and soak the feet in it for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this two times a day for maximum benefits. You can also use Lavender oil soap. It is the best natural antibacterial feet soap.

Epsom salt

Add two teaspoons of Epsom salt in half bucket of warm water. Soak feet for 10-15 minutes. Allow them to dry on their own. Use in moderation, too much of Epsom salt can cause irritation, so use in moderation.

Herbal soak

Both rosemary and sage have anti-bacterial properties and act as an astringent. Collectively they bring in the desired results for people with stinking feet. Add these herbs to a foot basin filled with boiling water. Let it cool down for you to soak your feet in it. Then soak for 10-15 minutes. Repeat twice daily.


Pound a ginger in your mixer and add hot water. Allow it to stand for 15 minutes. Filter and massage the feet with it before sleeping every night. Repeat this for a fortnight.
