Having a well written and cleanly formatted resume is paramount to getting a job. Some employers will not even consider candidates who have errors on their resumes or resumes that are just too sloppy.
Before trying to get that foot in the door with a potential employer, it is wise to have someone review and edit your resume.
This Saturday at the Lakeview Branch of the Oakland Public Library, attorney, Anna Chopova, will be offering assistance with resume writing and formatting.
Ms. Chopova will provide tips on how to craft a resume that helps sell candidates to the right audience: a picky and discerning company sifting through hundreds of resumes.
Attendees of the session will learn how to "highlight achievements to specific positions while maintaining broad marketability; translate [your] skills to new career fields; and send a message that is professional, concise and clear," according to the program description.
Attorney, Anna Chopova comes from a background of insurance law where she focuses on interpreting the verbuage in insurance policies. She will be at the Lakeview Branch located at 550 El Embarcadero in Oakland from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to review resumes. Call (510) 238-7344 with any questions.
