The single "Have a Toast" is an international music collaboration of six entertainers on four continents-- a clear example of music's universality. On the track are:
- DJ Unk, the platinum hip-hop artist from Atlanta of "Walk It Out" and "2 Step" fame,
- International DJ and producer, DJ Sanj,
- Multi-platinum international artist, and lead singer of Stereo Nation, Taz,
- Australian hip-hop duo DIRTY MOB,
- Electro/Progressive house duo from India, Lost Stories, and
- UK DJ and radio/TV personality, DJ Nihal.
Nick Rajsakha and Robert Thorn of EEG Talent and Nimbus Universal Records were instrumental in the success of this global music endeavor. They organized an efficient press junket that took place on September 20th at midtown Indian restaurant, Benares (240 W. 56th St.), and a special concert event on September 21st at Antun's by Minar in Hicksville, NY. At the press conference, exclusively invited media guests conducted interviews, took photos, and watched the music video for the catchy single.
The lyrics to "Have a Toast" contain references to drinking and partying, but DJ Unk explained that the song is about more than that kind of celebrating: "I had a heart attack a few years ago. When I'm talking about having a toast, I'm not just talking about something to drink. This is more of a celebration of new life. Let's take a shot for starting over again. Let's take a shot for good health. The good things in life."
Taz addressed the beauty of the global music concept: "One of the most beautiful things about music itself is [that] it's a universal language. It's a fantastic feeling of cross-fertilization-- a fusion of cultures-- of promoting the youth culture of today. I believe in 'one love.' We are one nation. As a world we are one nation. It's nice to be able to come together and promote and embrace each others' cultures."
DJ Sanj discussed his contribution to the project: "My flex on ['Have a Toast'] was giving it a little bit of a Bollywood, Punjabi, desi flavor to it, which is what I do. As long as everyone appreciates it, I'll keep being employed."
