Hauser Estate Winery makes for a "spirited" holiday day trip

You can keep the spirits alive even after Christmas, in Gettysburg. Hauser Estate Winery is celebrating with an “After Christmas” event on Dec. 26, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to enjoying fine wine, spirits and other delectable delights, Hauser will feature live entertainments by renowned Harpist Anita Smith. Enjoy a relaxing day in the Tasting Room, listening to music and enjoying epicurean enticements provided by N.E.W. A-Ville Inn.

The good times will continue on to Dec. 31 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a “spirited” New Year’s Eve celebration. Again N.E.W. A-Ville Inn will provide a splendid catering experience. The event’s featured musician will be the well-known Violin trio (Harp and Cello band) Blythe Spirits Music.

The Hauser Estate Winery was established as an “alternative agra-tourism venue for the historic Gettysburg community. Previously an extensive apple orchard exclusively, the area was revamped in recent years to feature grapevines and vineyards.

Later on, the vineyards opened a tasting room and a winery production facility beneath the 360 degree glass enclosed room. The tasting room overlooks lush orchards, fertile farmland and forests that extend all the way to the Civil War Battlefield. Then, In 2008, Winery Hauser Estate even opened an additional location—an ancillary shop located in downtown Gettysburg at 17 On the Square, much to the delight of tourists.

A visit to Hauser Estate Winery makes for a wonderful day trip opportunity for adults looking to have a little more “spirit” thrown into their Gettysburg day trip. The site address for the winery is 410 Cashtown Road, Biglerville, PA 17307. Regular hours of operation are on Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 717-334-4888 or visit
