They described these places as “ The Asylum also located in Denver is one of the most detailed haunted houses in America and between the 13th Floor attractions scattered across America and The Asylum in Denver they can fulfill any fright fans need for fear!” Coming in as number two and close to Baltimore is Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride in Philadelphia, PA – www.thebatesmotel.com & Pennhurst Asylum in Spring City, PA – www.pennhurstasylum.com. They say “you are in store for a one-two punch of gut wrenching fear!!” The Pennhurst Asylum is actually located inside a former asylum now closed. At number seven and nearby Baltimore is Field of Screams in Lancaster, PA – www.fieldofscreams.com. It says it has the longest haunted hayride and it also features scream shops, food, games and stage shows.
But what of haunts that are close to Baltimore? Rated fifteenth was Bennett’s Curse Haunted Attractions in Hanover, MD – www.bennettscurse.com. It lies between Baltimore and Washington DC and has three terrifying haunted houses all under one roof: House of the Vampyes, Zombie Kingdom in 3D and the Sanctuary of Insanity. Yes, you will need special 3D glasses in order to fully appreciate your zombie experience. The video is about a special demon they had created for their haunt in 2012.
In the category of haunted hayrides/trails, Hauntworld.com rated Creepywoods Haunted Forest in Kingsville, MD - www.creepywoods.com at number 3. This is an outdoor Halloween experience featuring gigantic creatures, a terrifying pack of blood thirsty werewolves, and ghostly spirits attacking from above. Beware of the trees. They suggest no open toe shoes are flip flops. During or after a rain storm, footing may become interesting.
