~ Haunted Tulsa, Go HERE to Get your Scare On! ~
It’s Halloween. We know you want to get your scare on. Unfortunately, the Ghost Tours are all SOLD OUT for the year, so here are some places to check out on your own.
Cain’s Ballroom. The Cain’s Ballroom is notoriously haunted. It’s believed that the Cain’s is haunted by Oklahoma’s own Bob Wills. There is also a mysterious “Lady in Red” that has been said to haunt the bathrooms. Make a visit, YOU decide.
Old Lady on Brady. This old venue used to be one of the largest theaters in the Tulsa area and boasts the ghost of the famous Italian tenor, Enrico Caruso. Legend has it that the Brady Theater is said to be the demise of the famous opera singer, due to the fact that his car broke down in 1921 and he had to walk miles in the cold and rain to get to his performance at the Brady. He later died from illness caused by the cold weather in Tulsa at the time, and he cursed the Brady for making him sick. Also, the Old Lady of Brady played a large part in the Race Riot of 1921 in Tulsa and is rumored that ghosts still haunt the Old Lady of Brady due to the blood that was shed within it’s walls.
Tulsa Hex House. The Hex House stood in the old Akdar Shriner’s area that has been recently sold to make way for a parking lot. Legend is that two women were held prisoner in a woman’s basement while she hypnotized them and stole their paychecks. This woman was suspected of killing her husband and her maid to collect on the insurance money. Years later, after the house was torn down, the parking lot built over it was haunted by ghosts that turned car radio’s and windshield wipers on without the keys.
Tulsa Garden Center. For unknown reasons, the Tulsa Garden Center is also haunted. If you study the history, not too many things really happened there. But for some reason, the place is haunted by the lights turning on and off, brand new bulbs breaking, footsteps in the middle of the night, a southern room, even though is fully windowed, remains the coldest place in the house. Rumored that a viewing was once held in there.
Gilcrease Museum. The Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa is also deemed haunted. The apparition of Thomas Gilcrease likes to visit his art in the museum buildings. This causes a high turn over of security officers, but finally they have found a few that understand what they are getting into when employed here.
