The outdoor festival tents are rolled up and put in storage; area ski hills still have another month of quiet; the full-force of the holidays have yet to hit. This final weekend of October is an in-between the seasons time, but there are still plenty of things to bring you out of the house this time of year.

A $9 day pass gives you access to Tubby Tubes year-round snow slides, a visit to their haunted house, tube maze, pumkin decorating, face painting, and games. The snack bar will be open. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity in the Glens Falls region.

This is the final weekend for Fright Fest 2013 at the Six Flags Great Escape theme park. Daytime hour activities are suitable for children (costumes encouraged.) After dark hours offer entertainment of the scary kind.

Organized by Improv Records, the folks who sponsor the free Fridays at the Lake summer concerts. Three stages and an eclectic mix of music goes until the wee hours of the morning.
