Shawnee State Park is presenting its second Haunted Paddle of the year on Friday, October 4 beginning at 7:30 p.m. During the paddle, you will enjoy a relaxing paddle around the lake where you will several stops for some stories of the paranormal. Will you be able to tell which ones are true and which ones are totally made up? This paddle will begin at the Regional Headquarters next to the big white barn along the main park road.

All equipment will be provided including kayak, paddles, PFD, and headlamp. For those that have never paddled before, there will be a brief lesson to begin the program. This program is for participants 8 and older. Anyone under 12 must ride in a tandem kayak with a responsible adult. Registration is required and can be done by calling (814)733-2203. Leave your name, a contact number and the number of registrants. If you need a tandem, please include that information.

There is a small program fee for the paddles at the park this year. The cost is $5.00 for participants 12 and up and $2.00 for participants between 8 and 12. Payment can be made by check or with exact change at the beginning of the program.

Does it sound interesting to you, but you are not able to go Friday? This program will be repeated the next two weekends. Each program will have different stories so come out for a couple of them and enjoy the season.
