Summit Credit Union Haunted Hustle races and festivities are October 26th and 27th. The race website describes the fourth annual Haunted Hustle as, "An action-packed two day Halloween weekend event with races & activities for the whole family!"
There are 5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon distance races. Saturday races are the 5k, 5k stroller derby, and 10k beginning at 4:30 pm. The half and full marathon are hosted Sunday with the first race beginning at 8:00 am. This is a Boston Qualifier course. All races start at the Keva Sports Center in Madison.
The weekend events are stacked with family fun on both Saturday and Sunday. There are cash prizes for the costume contest and pumpkin carving contest winners.
New this year is the 5k Stroller Derby race on Saturday. The event encourages participants to, "decorate your stroller and your munchkin for a chance to win a cash prize!"
As for the race details, these are chip timed races and headphones are allowed on the courses. There are aid stations about every two miles with water, ice, salt, PowerDrink, gel, porta potties, and they are themed. For a detailed outline of each aid station along the course click here.
Packet pickup is at the Keva Sports Center in Madison, WI on Saturday, October 26th from 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday morning from 6:30 am to 7:30 am.
For those looking to finish either the half or full marathon at a certain time, you can run with pace groups. The race offers pace groups running from a 6:55 min/mile pace through a 14 min/mile pace. Click here for more pace group information.
