FRIDAY SUNNY IN THE PINE BELT: Sunny, with a high near 67 Light south southwest wind becoming southwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph.
THE MISSISSIPPI WEEKEND: No rain for the weekend, but Saturday will be somewhat colder behind the Friday night front with a high in the upper 40s. Sunday, however, will feature a mild afternoon as we rise into the low 60s. Expect a sunny sky both days.
SPRING PREVIEW NEXT WEEK: The big pattern change we have been advertising will bring spring-like warmth into Alabama. We reach the upper 60s Monday, and the 12Z GFS is suggesting low 70s around here Tuesday through Thursday. A weak front could bring a few showers Monday night, but rain amounts should be light and spotty.
REST OF FEBRUARY: The GFS continues to advertise a good rain/thunderstorm event around February 23, followed by a quick pop of colder air. But, overall, temperatures should be above average over the next 15 days.
