Hatha yoga class begins Saturday at the Center for Wholeness (Video)

Hatha yoga provides tools for inner transformation by using the body as the locus of change. The techniques of hatha yoga include pranyama (breath control), asana (postures), mudras (gestures), and kriyas (cleansing techniques).

The Center for Wholeness is offering a new Hatha Yoga class on Saturday mornings at 10:45 a.m., beginning on January 5. The class will focus on helping students find the individualized yoga practice that is right for them. Yoga philosophy will also be interwoven into each session.

The class will be taught at mixed levels. While some experience with yoga is helpful, modifications will be available for students with less experience.

Elaine Torrie, a Registered Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist, will teach the course. Students will receive individual attention from the instructor during class, and she will be available for consultation before and after class.
