Hate for Anne Hathaway grows after critics call Golden Globes speech annoying (Video)

Not everyone is happy about Anne Hathaway’s Golden Globe achievement. According to a Jan. 18 The Daily Beast report, Hathaway has a big group of very outspoken haters.

More than a million results come back when searching for Hathaway’s name combined with “annoying.” When you stitch out “annoying” for “hate” it rises to over 28 million results.

Twitter exploded with comments during Hathaway’s Golden Globes acceptance speech. Nearly 20,000 tweets per minute were sent during Anne’s speech. The only speech that received a bigger reaction was Jennifer Lawrence’s.

Anne made comments during her speech that reinforced why so many people have such a strong opinion of her. “Thank you very much for this lovely blunt object that I will forevermore use as a weapon against self doubt,” Hathaway said of her Golden Globe award.

Those who find Anne annoying often call her fake and overly dramatic. Hathaway’s Golden Globes speech felt overly rehearsed to the point of coming off pretentious to many critics – despite Anne’s clear intentions of seeming humble and surprised.

Despite the drama of the evening, Anne took time to show support for teachers. Anne Hathaway was one of several stars to sign the Hilton HHonors Teacher Treks sculpture in support of teachers at the NBC Universal Golden Globes After Party Red Carpet on Sunday, January 13.
