Hatchet just released a new album 'Dawn of the End' and the release party was at Sub Mission in San Francisco. The show was awesome as you can see in the photos. Here's also few thoughts of the album.
The music is definitely good old Bay Area Thrash. It's complex for thrash, at times almost progressive in the structures of the songs. The music is also more aggressive that their debut album and with all the lineup changes it could be by a new band. I bet Julz would want this to be the debut album of Hatchet and put all the difficulties behind him and forge ahead with a lineup that is more dedicated to the music and the band. Overall the album sounds very polished, maybe even too much so, as some of the songs could use a bit of the raw energy that was present on the live show.
These days it seems that new Thrash metal bands are popping up everywhere I look, but Hatchet is definitely one to keep your eyes on.
Hatchet are:
Julz Ramos-Vocals/Lead Guitar
Clark Webb-Lead Guitar
