Hastert, Morris, and Medved to headline education town hall

As part of National School Choice Week, the “Education Revolution: Restoring America’s Exceptionalism” tour will be making a stop in the north suburban Chicago suburb of Skokie on Thursday evening.

The evening will include a town hall style question and answer session featuring talks by former Speaker of the House Denny Hastert, Dick Morris, a political author and conservative commentator, and Michael Medved, nationally syndicated conservative talk show host and movie critic.  Michelle Bernard, Director of Independent Women’s Forum and frequent guest on MSNBC will join Hastert, Morris, and Medved in a panel discussion on school choice moderated by John Tillman, CEO of the Illinois Policy Institute.

The event is being presented by the Illinois chapter of Americans for Prosperity, AM 560 WIND, and a coalition of conservative and educational organizations to highlight the fact that American 15-year-olds rank 35th out of 57 countries in math and literacy, behind almost all industrialized nations.

According to Collin Corbett, an organizer with AFP, “America shouldn’t be 35th in anything.  It’s time to make America a global leader in education.”

The town hall is free and will be held on Thursday, January 27 from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, Illinois.  Attendees must pre-register online.  A special VIP reception with Denny Hastert, Dick Morris, Michael Medved, and Michelle Bernard is being held from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.prior to the town hall for $99 and also requires advance pre-registration online.
