Elisabeth Hasselbeck says she thinks Senator John Edwards was waiting for his wife Elizabeth Edwards to die from breast cancer so that he wouldn't have to deal with the consequences of his affair with and subsequent love child from mistress Rielle Hunter.
Hasselbeck made the statement during Thursday morning's "Hot Topics" segment of The View while the co-hosts discussed a recent story in the National Enquirer that claims John Edwards has proposed to Rielle Hunter despite his divorce from first wife Elizabeth Edwards being incomplete.
"Here's the deal," Elisabeth Hasselbeck told her The View co-hosts. "Edwards was waiting for her to die so then he didn't have to deal with any of this and then all the information came out. Unfortunately, she happened to survive cancer and now he's having to deal with the consequences."
The rest of The View panel suddenly went from trashing John Edwards to telling Hasselbeck she'd gone too far.
Joy Behar, Hasselbeck's most frequent on-screen nemesis responded to Hasselbeck's claim "I don't like the guy any more than you do but I really don't think that he was waiting for his wife to die," said Behar. "I don't believe that."
Whoopi Goldberg agreed that although John Edwards was a total dog, that didn't mean he wished death on his wife: "Just because you no longer have the relationship with somebody doesn't mean you stop loving them."

I said it once and i'll say it again, that manipulative instigating, "conservative blond" sack of $hit is saying whatever her guilty conscience would do!
Everyone wants to be politically correct and say he wouldn't be that bad, but when you are in the gutter - there is a reason you are there and if the guy cared about his wife he wouldn't have done what he did to begin with...so YES I agree with Elisabeth. Slimeballs are actually that bad - watch COURT TV if you need an eye opener.
Consider the source. Hasselbeck thinks Sarah Palin walks on water.
This chick was an also ran on a reality show so her credentials to speak on anything except immunity challenges and tribal councils are . . . what?
The others on The View should vote her off.
No reason to shoot the messenger. If Edwards really said to Young that Elizabeth was going to die soon--hence the "temporary" cover-up of asking Young to claim paternity so she wouldn't die knowing about the child--then Hasselbeck has a valid point, politically acceptable to the rest of the ladies of The View or not.
Like her heroine, Sarah Palin, Elizabeth Hasselbeck doesn't have a thought in her head. I'm surprised she doesn't write her comments on her hands, too.
She should go back to Survivor where she can play the ingenue and the others can tear her apart. Oh wait, that's what she does on The View - except you have to add her psycho talk on politics.

Under John Edwards' picture up there it says that he is denying getting engaged to Rielle.
JOHN EDWARDS: Would that be the same type of denying that you espoused/spewed about not even having any affair with Rielle, or would that be the same type of denying that you espoused/spewed that you never got her pregnant, or finally would that be the same type of denying that you espoused/spewed that you were DEFINITELY 100% NOT THE FATHER OF her daughter? Hmmm?

Do you REALLY THINK ANYBODY is going to believe ANYTHING that you espouse/spew/state? This would be equivalent to believing the Little Boy Who Cried Wolf.
Most of us little common folk ARE VASTLY MORE INTELLIGENT AND EDUCATED THAN YOU.....You are now history in most people's eyes......have a nice life...because you're going straight to he** on the way out..
