Has Mayweather been planning the Pacquiao drug testing strategy for most of the year?

Has Mayweather been planning the Pacquiao drug testing strategy for most of the year? The battle between Mayweather and Pacquiao continues, and the two fighters still are not close to coming to an agreement.

Pac’s promoter, Bob Arum told Sports Illustrated Monday that if Mayweather doesn’t agree to the blood testing that Pac has offered, then they plan to jump right into a fight between Pac and Paulie Malignaggi. Then just to dig the knife a little deeper into Mayweather, Arum said that he could finalize that fight in less than an hour.

Over the past year or so there have been rumors about Pacquiao’s body and weight changes, but no one really brought it out into the light. Until April, when Floyd Mayweather, Sr. brought up the notion that Pac was doping, before Pac fought Hatton. Mayweather Sr. didn’t hide the fact that he thought Pac was on steroids, and he still stands by that statement.

In September, Mayweather, Sr. told the Boxing Truth radio when asked about if he thought Pac was on steroids responded, “It is my belief. If it ain’t true, then prove it, prove me wrong.” To listen to his statement, click here.

Have Mayweather, Jr. and Mayweather, Sr. been planning to ask for Olympic style testing all along? Knowing that the day would come when the two fighters would be asked to fight each other?
Has Mayweather been waiting for this moment? To bring it out into the light…that there is a strong possibility that Pac is using? If so, it is genius.

Mayweather has the control right now, he is making the demands. It would explain why he has been so quiet and slow to respond to Pac’s shifting changes to the drug testing debate. If Mayweather stands his ground and demands the more rigorous drug testing, then Pac will have to alter his schedule or say he can’t do the fight. Either way, Mayweather wins.

@Marci: It ain't genius when you accuse somebody of something without proof. Manny has nothing to prove because he was already cleared by the NSAC. Now Floyd's camp has to prove their accusations. Floyd is out of control for this one.

  • Mike 2 years ago

Floyd might wing in tarnishing the reputation of Manny but I think Manny will win in court, and Floyd's gonna cough up "tens of millions of dollars." But that's no big deal for Floyd "He is filthy rich." LOLO

  • rhey 2 years ago

    how is it genius!!!?
floyd sr is prob'ly the dumbest father ever when he said he thinks pac is on something and pac has to prove it. he's the one who accused pac so he's the one who should prove it.

Paquiao could get more from that lawsuit, say 10M from Floyd Jr, 10M from Floyd Sr, 10M from DLH, 10M from Roger, and another 10M from Schaefer. Ha! Ha! Ha! Hope Pacquaio will not drop the suit. Teach those loud mouthed a lesson.

Now Manny is in control. Because Manny stands to earn tens of millions this year, and Floyd's accusations could cost him PPV buys, so there is concrete damage that Floyd and Golden Boy Promotion can do. So in a court of law they will have to prove their claims in court or suffer the consequences.
Now it's simply not about a potential 50 million dollar payday a fight with Pacquiao would have gain them. They get no fight, AND now they risk losing tens of millions of their fortunes. And Floyd has IRS and gambling issues, so add a potential 7 figure judgement and Manny could end up moving into Floyd's compound.

This is exactly what the Mayweathers and Golden Boy Promotions wanted to happen, make a unsubstantiated accusation against Pacquiao and cast a doubt over Pacquiao's ring accomplishments. You, Marci, have fallen in their trap. Your stand now seems to be that it is a brilliant move to accuse anybody of wrongdoing, even without proof, and let that poor bastard prove that he is innocent. A typical mob lyncher mentality. McCarthyism exemplified. Shame on you.

It's far more historically meaningful for Pacman to chase for his 8th title in 8 weight class, than chasing a chicken.

  • BisDak 2 years ago

@Marci, Pacman will making Millions soon without breaking a sweat.

here yah, here yah...The Mayweather's are screwed! twofolds...
#1. If Pacquiao and Mayweather does not materialized, Pacquiao can make the assumption that he lost out in millions and will try to recover it from the libel suit.
#2. If they continue with the fight and the lawsuit is not settled, do anyone think Mayweather wil get his purse? Negative. Pacquiao will put a lien on Mayweather's earnings until a judgement or settlelment is performed.
Poor guys. See when you open your big mouth. They gotta be dumb as f***k.

    what a dumb reporter

"Has Mayweather been waiting for this moment? To bring it out into the light…that there is a strong possibility that Pac is using? If so, it is genius."

So as a reporter you buy the ploy? wow.

"Mayweather, Sr. told the Boxing Truth radio when asked about if he thought Pac was on steroids responded, “It is my belief. If it ain’t true, then prove it, prove me wrong.”

This is an example on how idiotic PBF Sr. is. An accuser challenges anyone to prove him wrong. In the legal system, the accuser WILL have the burden to prove he is RIGHT. In this case. PBF Sr. is the defendent and must defend his statements which he needs to prove to the court any proof to his staements. GBP must do the same.

  • boom 2 years ago

    come on now , what in the world are you doing writer???? if you don't know this, in the court of law it's the accuser that has to prove or show the evidence it's simple mathematics. i only have three reason why you write those comments, it's either no.1 you're CRAZY!!!, no.2 you're just plain STUPID!!! or no.3 how much did you make from the 3 stooges??? (floyd gayweather, dick shceifer and oscar de la gaya}

The only reason Floyd Jr. is running away from this fight is coz he had traumatic experience when Sugar Ray beat up his dad made him dance like a one legged chickenshit and he had been runnin ever since. No wonder he had no loss. Be scared Jr. and keep runnin'. Maybe some stupid fans of yours will still pay for your boring fights with selected bums like the Hattons.

  • boom 2 years ago

i bet you this fight will push through simply because mayweathers camp made a big blunder, with this lawsuit there's no way out, well their is one, they have to prove and show the court the evidence that manny pacquiao is using steroids the only way to do that is to bribe someone from the wild cards gym and pacquiaos' camp. like climbing the top of mount everest with one foot it's hard but not impossible but if they can't prove it then they must give mannys' camp what they ask for in the contarct which is very fair to me. anyway manny still must to be subjected to urine and blood test but the only difference here is floyd and oscar won't be dictating the terms but manny is. the only question that remains now is can floyd and oscars' ego handle this complicated situation that for the first time in quite a while they're not the one who's controlling the biggest fight of the century but the little man from the 3rd world country called PHILIPPINES yeahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

  • sr crackweather 2 years ago

what an uglyfaceshit this mayweather sr have! is he a homosapiens or neanderthal man? gwaaaarrrk! the mayweather clan should go back to the jungle of africa to be with their original family. the writer is also a stupidmoron and should learn the writing basics.

  • Boxing Sense 2 years ago

The arguments of this so called writer is absurd and ridiculous.
I'm accusing this writer of BEING ON THE TAKE from Mayweather and Golden Boy Promotions who have been planning this demolition job on Pacquiao for more than a year. She may even be Floyd's lover. Oscar De la Hoya wants to get even for his humiliation by QUITTING on his stool, while Mayweather is full of ENVY. Pacquiao's filing of a lawsuit is genius! Don't you dare delete this comment you PAID MERCENARY WRITER! You are guilty unless you prove to me otherwise. Sounds familiar?

  • Boxing Sense 2 years ago

Marci Stone might now be thinking- "Was the take I got from Mayweather and Golden Boy Promotions for the hatchet job on Pacquiao which was planned for more than a year worth the price for ruining my reputation and all the flak I'm getting?" Marci Stone is on the TAKE and is willing to write lies, half truths and whatever suits the giver, if the price is right. What the he_ll are you doing in Examiner- a very prestigious site that's not worthy of your twisted facts and shameless writing?

  • Boxing Sense 2 years ago

Yeah, Mayweather been planning the Pacquiao drug testing strategy for most of the year with this writer, Marci Stone as an accomplice to stain the accomplishments of Pacquiao which he earned thru talent, hard work, discipline and faith in God.

  • Billy 2 years ago

I give May-weather credit he's avoided a fight that the whole world wants and has somewhat saved face. His strategy is good and I like his Art of war. Avoid useless battles if there is no real gain. He realizes the no win situation. Forget what the fans want. At the end of the day its his life and only he knows whats best for him. They may meet up still later this year but I would not be surprised if this fight did not happen. I applaud May weather's tactics and strategies. This man has read the Art of War.
