Harvin trade rumors: Vikings to ditch Percy over temper, reports indicate

Percy Harvin trade rumors are heating up after a new report from Mike Max of WCCO in Minneapolis on Feb. 9. The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver and return specialist may have been a first round pick by the team in 2009, but it seems things are not going well between the team and the player, and it may be time for an official split.

Mike Max shares that multiple sources have told him about the Harvin trade rumors, and indicate that the trade interest is due to “an embarrassing tirade” from Percy Harvin directed toward Leslie Frazier, the Minnesota Vikings head coach. Harvin was sidelined with an ankle injury at the time of the alleged blowup, and it is said that multiple teammates heard the encounter.

If the alleged blowup did happen, it certainly wouldn’t be the first or last for an NFL player. However, sources indicate that the Minnesota Vikings are not interested in keeping players with that kind of attitude on their team. The sources also indicate that Percy Harvin had a similar blowup toward Brad Childress when he was coaching the team.

Of course there is always a team willing to take talent even if it comes with a temper. The Vikings are said to believe Percy Harvin has solid market value, so they will pursue a trade opportunity. The sources for WCCO also indicate that the injury isn’t what drove Percy away from the team. Rather, the blowup with Frazier is what led to the departure.

What do you think of the Percy Harvin trade rumors? Is it time for the Minnesota Vikings to send him elsewhere? Which team do you think would be a fit for him?
