It seems as though every big race for NASCAR has been delayed by rain this season. However, the inclement weather could not dampen the spirits of JR Motorsports as Kevin Harvick took the lead away from polesitter Brian Scott (who ended up 5th) on lap 48 of the ToyotaCare 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Richmond International Raceway Friday night and held it for 202 out of 250 laps to win his 7th race at the track. Teammate Chase Elliot took the number 2 spot 2.069 seconds behind Harvick, with Kyle Busch coming in 3rd. Although Harvick’s win prevented Elliot from scoring three races in a row, Elliott was able to stretch his series lead to 19 points of over Regan Smith, who finished 8th.

Harvick’s triumph was also the 4th win in 8 NASCAR National Series races for JR Motorsports this season. Completing the top 10 finishers were Kyle Larson (4th), Elliot Sadler (6th), Chris Buescher (7th) Regan Smith (8th), Ryan Blaney (9th) and James Buescher (10th).
