Windcatcher: The Story of Sacajawea is the next biggest Independent Film project to hit the film industry. Its magnificent epic nature, with cascading mountain ranges, treacherous rivers, iconic characters and raw adventure gives it unique and fantastic challenges that will interpret into a masterpiece compared only to Dances with Wolves and Last of the Mohicans.
The film is inspired, and has attracted the directorial passion of movie professional and highly creative director/producer and special effects expert, Harvey Lowry. As the Director, Mr. Lowry was asked his vision for the project,
My vision is the writer’s vision. I am thrilled to take that vision and create something that will be powerful and life-changing. This script has an energy all its own, something I’ve never seen before.
Mr. Lowry brings a wealth of experience to the project. He has a long history in the film industry, collaborating in various positions on A Beautiful Mind, The Passion of the Christ, X-Men: The Last Stand, Alice in Wonderland, Night in the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I Am Legend, Sinbad, Ocean’s Thirteen, Van Helsing, Soccer Mom, Hannibal, to name a few. He has independently produced 22 feature films, music videos and documentaries.
Mr. Lowry’s career began when he entered the film industry with a degree in Life Science and soon became the Director of Operations for one of the largest special effects and film production companies in California. Over the course of 18 years, he directed, supervised productions, special effects, makeup effects, visual effects, animatronics and specialty costumes for over 100 feature films, television shows, music videos and commercials..
Windcatcher: The Story of Sacajawea, by Jane L. Fitzpatrick, was selected and nominated for Best Period Piece screenplay at the 2013 Action On Film International Film Festival.
