Harvest Days offers the chance to enjoy the outdoors and get into the spirit of autumn while enjoying the animals. Registration or tickets are not required for the free event that is fun for the family.
“There is something here for all ages,” said Events Manager Josh Rupp. “Kids will love the animal encounters and harvest crafts, while parents are sure to enjoy the demonstrations and chats by organic gardeners.”
Pop into the Harvest Days pumpkin patch before decorating your pick with traditional Jack-o’-lantern faces or more exotic animal features.
Farm-in-the Zoo animals are out and about so kids can get up close with a chicken or barn owl, feed a cow or watch a pony being groomed. Animal experts demonstrate and give the inside scoop on how to care for the critters at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
A family-friendly DJ will be spinning tunes, and a plentiful autumn bounty including churros, ice cream, and chips will be at the ready. For more information, see the Lincoln Park Zoo website.
