Harvard University receives bomb threat during finals week

Monday morning, several buildings were evacuated at Harvard University after a bomb threat was made; after a search of the premises local police said that they believe it was a hoax. Harvard University posted a note on their website and on Twitter that they received an unconfirmed report that bombs may have been placed on the campus, according to CNN.

It is finals week at Harvard and many were cancelled because of the bomb threat. No explosions were heard and the police searched the four buildings that were in questioned on the Harvard campus.

The Harvard student newspaper, The Harvard Crimson posted the information on Twitter after speaking to the Dean of Freshmen, Thomas Dingman.

Evacuations were conducted at Harvard Science Center, Sever Hall, Emerson Hall, and a freshman dormitory.

The police said that the bomb threat was made by phone. Harvard University police, Cambridge police and the FBI are investigating the bomb threat. Some students were in the middle of taking their final exams when they were asked to leave the building.
