Dr. Mike Stopa, a Harvard physicist, who is running to fill the House seat left vacant after Ed Markley won the special senate election in Massachusetts, takes issue with warming alarmist's repudiation of science. Stopa produced a YouTube film showing the political, economic, and science as it pertains to the global warming community.
The video ends with two vacant parking lots, where "green" companies once sat. Even though they went bankrupt, they were able to make a fortune on government subsidies. (The video is available in the link in the first line of this story)
Stopa is the director of the National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network Computation Project. This group provides workspace at several esteemed colleges and the tools to do proper research. The work stations are located at Harvard, Cornell, Stanford, and the University of Michigan. They instruct researchers on how to run their project in order to get the best and most accurate results.
Stopa predicts a revolution in the study of global warming in the next couple of years:
“Thomas Kuhn described changes in scientific paradigms that are sudden and surprising with the term ‘scientific revolutions. We may be witnessing such a scientific revolution in the theory of global warming right now. But alas, there are reactionary forces outside of the scientific community that are fighting vigorously to hold the line and keep up public concern if not outright panic.”
Stopa is especially concerned about groups calling for even more regulation of greenhouse gases and as an expert in research, is more than a little shocked at how shoddily global warming models have been slapped together, and is not surprised that every one has proven to be a failure. Stopa has written 75 scholarly papers on research, for which he has received over 1,000 citations.
“The IPCC in releasing their Fifth Assessment Report, are struggling to maintain a sense of urgency about climate change that is belied by: a pause of fifteen years in global warming, a failure to correctly incorporate important natural climate driving effects such as solar forcing and ocean current, and a continued inability to fully incorporate the effects of cloud formation in their models.”
The cloud formation effects he was speaking of is the effect cosmic rays from the sun have on producing clouds. Global warming scientists have long maintained that the sun's affects on clouds is non existent. But thanks to the European scientific group, Cern, (Developed the Internet, Large Hadron Collider, finders of the "God" particle leading to the 2013 Nobel prize going to Higgs, etc) built a duplicate of the Earth's atmosphere and bombarded it with cosmic rays. Cloud cover increased ten fold but is not mentioned in the IPCC report.
Stopa is not the only prominent scientist who ridicules the IPCC report. Earlier this month, MIT climate scientist, Dr. Richard Lindzen, called the IPCC report, hilarious.
“I think that the latest IPCC report has truly sunk to level of hilarious incoherence. They are proclaiming increased confidence in their models as the discrepancies between their models and observations increase.”
“Their excuse for the absence of warming over the past 17 years is that the heat is hiding in the deep ocean. However, this is simply an admission that the models fail to simulate the exchanges of heat between the surface layers and the deeper oceans.”
“However, it is this heat transport that plays a major role in natural internal variability of climate, and the IPCC assertions that observed warming can be attributed to man depend crucially on their assertion that these models accurately simulate natural internal variability. Thus, they now, somewhat obscurely, admit that their crucial assumption was totally unjustified.”
World governments spends tens of billions of dollars on research every year and governmental policies and regulations do untold damage financially through the same.
