Harvard and Princeton return to early admissions bring change

The record number of early applicants for Dartmouth’s for the class of 2016 increased by 2.6 percent compared to last year. This shows an overall trend of steadiness in the increase of early applicants to the college in the last five years. This is according to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Maria Laskaris.  Princeton and Harvard Universities return to early admission policy shows the continuing controversy surrounding the early admissions in college applications process. The return of Harvard and Princeton to the policy has resulted to a decrease in the pool of students who normally apply to Dartmouth College.  Princeton and Harvard returned to early admission program in the 2011-2012 application year after doing away with it in the year 2006.

The return of Harvard and Princeton to the early admission program has resulted to the clear change in college’s early admissions process beginning last year. Because of Harvard and Princeton colleges, applicants are now enrolled in variety of schools. Once Harvard and Princeton return to early admission, the college’s peer institutions experienced an increase in number of applicants. Cornell has experienced a rise in the number in the number of early applicants by 3.7 percent. This shows a varying trend in early applicants among Ivy schools.
