Hartz Mountain recalls two dog treat products

Hartz Mountain Corporation announced the voluntary recall of two dog treat products on Friday. The company, headquartered in Secaucus, N.J. has recalled Chicken Chews and Hartz Oinkies Pig Skin Twists wrapped with Chicken for Dogs.

Recent samplings and tests have detected trace amounts of antibiotic residue which is not approved in the United States.

The company states there is no correlation between these products and the investigation currently being conducted by the Federal Drug Administration in relation to chicken jerky products manufactured in China.

  • 16 oz package

All Hartz® Oinkies® Pig Skin Twists wrapped with Chicken

  • 20 pack Pig Skin Twist Sticks
  • 7 pack Mini Pig Skin Twists wrapped with Chicken
  • 15 pack Mini Pig Skin Twists wrapped with Chicken
  • 5 pack Pig Skin Twists wrapped with Chicken

There have been no known illnesses to date from any of these products. Please return the products to the store for a full refund.
