Harry Styles tops Taylor Swift at People's Choice Awards with best song win (Video)

On Jan. 9, Harry Styles and the other four members of One Direction were a winning boy band at the People's Choice Awards 2013 when the group from the UK took the best song prize away from Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepsen, Maroon 5, and fun., featuring Janelle Monae.

Indeed, hit songs "Call Me Maybe," "One More Night," "We Are Young" and, yes, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" lost to a top tune called "What Makes You Beautiful."

Ironically, the One Direction anthem's win may be even more poignant for this group given that Harry Styles, who is part of the band known also as 1D, has allegedly just broken up with rival singer Taylor Swift. In fact, Styles is reportedly not happy about the split.

Meanwhile, Swift's song that lost is also caught in an ironic situation since the tune, called "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,"might just bring about an even more miserable Harry if he thinks about its meaning.

After all, Swift is known to be a songwriter who likes to talk about past relationships, as demonstrated by the tune that didn't make the grade at the People's Choice Awards. With that in mind, what will stop her from writing about her brief liaison with Harry Styles?

Whatever happens in that arena will likely make it to social media when or if that happens but meanwhile the arena in Los Angeles known as Nokia Theatre L.A. Live is a keen place made even more so tonight as Harry Styles and the rest of One Direction triumphs over Taylor Swift at the People's Choice Awards for their best song win.
