The freshly dating Taylor Swift and Harry Styles may be getting more serious in their relationship this week while vacationing in the Caribbean, but TVNZ News reported this Sunday, Jan. 6, that Taylor Swift’s dad recently opened up on the “Haylor” couple. While he allegedly supports his daughter and the One Direction star being together this weekend, he does want “Haylor” to “slow down” and apparently “not break up” anytime soon.
As any protective father would, Taylor Swift’s dad has allegedly told her new boyfriend, Harry Styles of One Direction, not to cause his daughter any heartbreak. According to TVNZ News, Scott Swift hopes for Taylor Swift and Harry Styles to “slow down” in their relationship after Taylor was left “really hurt” after her previous splits with boyfriends Joe Jonas, John Mayer, and Taylor Lautner.
“Scott likes Harry [Styles], but he wants the two to slow down and just take things easy,” said a “Haylor” insider to The Sun. “It’s clear that the two are in love with one another … and even talking about marriage.”
While Taylor Swift getting married to Harry Styles had been little more than fan speculation up to now, the alleged source seems to claim through this comment it was a real prospect for the “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “Little Things” singers, particularly with the two wanting to move near one another in back in 2012.
“[Taylor’s dad] doesn’t want Harry and Taylor to split up as fast as they’ve gotten together. He doesn’t want his daughter to end up devastated again.”
It’s well-known that the talented Taylor Swift holds onto a close relationship with her parents, so these words will likely be taken to heart by the pop country starlet. Harry Styles, meanwhile, got quite close this week as well after buying out a yacht for the dubbed "Haylor" duo as they spend some romantic time in the Caribbean together.
“Harry and Taylor were too hassled for fan pictures on the islands, so [Harry Styles] hired a yacht for a night so the two could visit two private islands alone,” added the source to the Daily Star.
