After a little over a month of several jet-set dates and a breakup with Grammy winner Taylor Swift, One Direction's Harry Styles is back in London's nightlife scene. While Swift was in Los Angeles for the 2013 People's Choice Awards on January 9, Styles was at Sketch in London for a private dinner party hosted by rapper Tinie Tempah, designer Sir Paul Smith and GQ editor Dylan Jones in celebration of the London Collections: Men Autumn/Winter 2013.
At the party, Styles, 18, hung out with two of his closest friends: actor/comedian James Corden, 34, and BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, 28. Pop singer Jessie J and actress Alexandra Roach were also at the party.
After that soiree, Styles, Corden and Roach headed to a private dinner party hosted by designer Tom Ford to celebrate Ford's London Collections show.
Styles and Swift, 23, started publicly dating in mid-November 2012, and they reportedly broke up in the first week of January 2013. Swift and Styles have not publicly commented on their relationship.
But there are persistent rumors that the Swift/Styles romance was fabricated as a publicity stunt because Styles is secretly gay or bisexual.
The gay rumors were further fueled when Styles and Corden, 34, held hands as they waded through paparazzi when they arrived at the Tinie Tempah/Smith/Jones party. Sources have told the media that Styles and Corden have a platonic, brotherly relationship. Styles was one of many celebrities who attended Corden's wedding to Julia Carey in September 2012. Corden and Carey have a son named Max, who was born in March 2011. In 2013, Corden is once again hosting the annual Brit Awards. One Direction is nominated for Best British Group at the show.
People who believe that Styles is gay or bisexual have been saying that Grimshaw and Styles are more than friends. When the two men are in London together, they're practically inseparable. Their "bromance" really intensified in the summer of 2012, when paparazzi documented that Styles and Grimshaw were spending nights at each other's homes and wearing each other's clothes. (Styles and Grimshaw both live in London's Primrose Hill area.) In July 2012, one of the London parties that Styles and Grimshaw went to together was for Tinie Tempah's Disturbing London x Nike Blaze.
Grimshaw, who is openly gay, has not commented on the rumors that he and Styles are lovers. When Styles is asked about his love life in interviews, he says that he dates women, but since January 2012, he has refused to publicly name anyone he has been dating.
"The Xtra Factor" co-host Caroline Flack, 33, is the only woman whom Styles has admitted to dating since One Direction became famous. One Direction was created on "The X Factor" U.K. in 2010 and rose to instant fame that has grown to global proportions and has made One Direction the biggest worldwide act to emerge from "The X Factor." (One Direction came in third place on "The X Factor" U.K.)
Flack and Styles had a four-month fling that ended in January 2012. Soon after the breakup, Styles went on Twitter to say that their split was "a mutual decision." Flack and Styles say that they still keep in touch and are friendly with each other. Grimshaw is also one of Flack's friends.
Before Grimshaw and Styles got so close, there were persistent rumors that Styles and One Direction's Louis Tomlinson, 21, were lovers. It's a rumor that Tomlinson has denied several times in interviews and on Twitter. Tomlinson says that he is in love and in a monogamous relationship with University of Manchester student Eleanor Calder, 20, whom he's been dating since late 2011.
And yet the speculation about Styles' sexuality continues:
