Even though Harry Styles of One Direction keeps saying that he has no plans for a solo career, he has been collaborating with other songwriters for music that won't be for One Direction. According to a Daily Mirror report published on Aug. 26, 2014, Styles has reached out to singer/songwriter Meghan Trainor to work together. According to the tabloid, Styles and Trainor "were introduced in L.A. by mutual friends and instantly hit it off. They arranged a meeting and Harry offered to help pen her next track."

An unnamed source told the Daily Mirror: “They have a similar sense of humor and Harry was keen to lend her his musical opinion. He’s got a great ear and she was keen to hear about what Harry had to say. They also have good chemistry and get on really well."

Trainor commented, “I met Harry, and he’s like a friend now. We just texted each other a minute ago, and I’m still sweating over it.”

Meanwhile, the Mirror also revealed that in 2014, Styles' cousin Ben Selley will be featured as a contestant on "The X Factor" U.K., the show that created One Direction in 2010.

Selley is a member of the boy band his boyband Concept, whose other members are Karim Newton, Matt Goodenough, Nathan Gittens and Scott Dicks. According to the Daily Mirror, Concept "was approached by talent spotters after they saw the boys play in posts on Twitter. [The members of Concept] have been together for over three years and are described as a rockier version of 1D. But the lads kept quiet about their link to Harry during auditions as they wanted to make it on their own merit."

Yeah, right. It's highly unlikely that "X Factor" producers didn't know about Selley's connection to Styles, since Selley has been seen in several social-media photos with Styles.

An unnamed source told the Daily Mirror: "They didn’t want to use Harry’s fame and success to get them through the competition. Now the judges have tipped them for stardom, and Harry has been on hand to help them cope. He’s very supportive and has been offering them lots of advice and support. He knows exactly what Ben’s going through at this time.”

Selley isn't the only "X Factor" U.K. contestant of 2014 who has a famous relative. Robert Pattinson's sister Lizzy Pattinson is also one of the contenders. So far, it's been reported that she made it to "X Factor" boot camp.
