One Direction's Harry Styles and model Cara Delevingne have reportedly begun dating again. According to a Look magazine article that was published on Sept. 11, 2013, the couple "secretly" rekindled their romance not long after the January 2013 breakup between Styles and Taylor Swift.
Styles (who is 19) and Delevingne (who is 21) were first seen on dates together in the summer of 2012. However, Styles and Delevingne have refused to publicly confirm or deny the status of their relationship. When Styles is asked in interviews about his love life, he declines to name anyone whom he is dating.
Styles and Swift began dating in the spring of 2012, but then they broke up after a few weeks. Swift then dated Conor Kennedy (eldest son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.) until that relationship fizzled in October 2012. Swift and Styles rekindled their romance from November 2012 to January 2013, but that relationship reportedly ended badly. (Styles has taken the high road by saying nice things about Swift when he is asked about her in interviews, although he won't comment specifically on his relationship with her. Swift, 23, has not publicly talked about Styles, even when they were dating.)
During the week of Sept. 2, 2013, Styles and Delevingne were photographed on a date together in London, where they watched the stage musical "The Book of Mormon." Eyewitnesses told Look magazine that Styles and Delevingne were seen cuddling and acting like a couple on the date.
An unnamed source commented to Look about Styles and Delevingne: "They have great chemistry. Sure, they've always agreed to keep things super-casual and private because of their crazy worlds, but Harry genuinely likes Cara a lot. He has done ever since they met three years ago. They've actually had an on/off thing going all this time when they're in the same city, but they've never had the chance to give a real relationship a shot. I can't imagine she wants to join the list of women who have been Harry'd."
On Feb. 18, 2013, Devlevigne and Styles partied together all night in London, according to The Sun, which published paparazzi photos of Styles coming out of a private home in London's upscale Notting Hill district at approximately 7 a.m. GMT. Delevingne was photographed stumbling out of the home about two hours earlier.
This was after Styles spent the night partying with Delevingne and singer Rita Ora. The three stars were all seen at the bar in the VIP area for the War Child BRIT Awards Concert (headlined by Muse) at the O2 Arena. (In the United Kingdom, the minimum legal to drink alcohol is 18 years old.) Styles, Delevingne and Ora then went to the Cafe Royal Hotel for a party held by AnOther magazine and Dazed and Confused magazine. Other guests at the party included Black Eyed Peas founder Will.i.am, The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince, singer Paloma Faith, model/TV host Alexa Chung and music producer Mark Ronson.
Delevingne is a rising star in the fashion industry (she's been called "the next Kate Moss" by some people in the media), and she's become a regular in the tabloids for her hard-partying antics. She is also an aspiring actress and singer. Delevingne made her movie debut in 2012's "Anna Karenina." She also reportedly auditioned for the role of Anastasia Steele in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie. (Dakota Johnson ended up getting the role.)
Whether or not Styles and Delevingne were ever a couple, she moved on to dating other people. Delevingne was seen on dates with singer/songwriter Jake Bugg. Delevingne (who is openly bisexual) was also rumored to be in a romance with Ora, who was calling Delevingne her "wifey" in multiple interviews. Ora dated reality TV star Rob Kardashian in 2012, but they had a bitter breakup. After the breakup, Kardashian lashed out at Ora on Twitter by saying that she had cheated on him with several men.
Delevingne and Ora's relationship seems to have cooled off since the summer of 2013, when Ora began dating Calvin Harris. (He was featured on Rihanna's smash hit "We Found Love.") Rihanna is one of Delevingne's close friends. Rihanna also hangs out on occasion with members of "X Factor" U.K. boy band One Direction, including Styles and Zayn Malik.
Meanwhile, Styles continues to be the subject of rumors that he is secretly gay or bisexual. People have speculated that Styles and BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, 29, are more than best friends, since the two men have been photographed by paparazzi spending the night at each other's homes and wearing each other's clothes.
However, in an interview with the U.K. edition of GQ magazine's September 2013 issue, Styles denied that he is dating Grimshaw: “We’re not dating, no. We’re just friends.”
As for his own sexuality, Styles told GQ: “Bisexual? Me? I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure I’m not.”
Styles has refused to publicly name anyone he has dated since January 2012, when he and "The Xtra Factor" host Caroline Flack ended their four-month fling. Styles said on Twitter that the breakup he had with Flack was a "mutual decision." Flack (who is 33) and Styles remain friendly with each other and are sometimes seen socializing at the same parties, since they have mutual friends, such as Grimshaw.
