Harry Styles' 20th birthday: Kendall Jenner in New York City without him

One Direction's Harry Styles turned 20 years old on Feb. 1, 2014. And while the British tabloid Sunday People reported on Feb. 2 that he spent his 20th birthday hanging out with Kendall Jenner (who is 18) at her father Bruce Jenner's mansion in Malibu, Calif., the photographic evidence tells a different story: On Feb. 1, 2014, Kendall was 3,000 miles away in New York City, where she stopped by Time Warner Cable Studios and posed for media photos. Many celebrities are in the New York area for Super Bowl XLVIII (which takes place on Feb. 2, 2014), and it looks like Kendall is also spending the weekend in the area for the Super Bowl festivities.

It's possible (but not likely) that Kendall went back to Malibu the same day, but that's a plane flight that takes about six or seven hours. The Sunday People's story look very suspicious, considering the story makes it sound like Kendall and Styles were holed up in Malibu all day for his birthday.

If Styles really spent his 20th birthday with her, then it would make more sense that he would be in New York area with her. As of now, there is no credible evidence that he spent the day with Kendall in Malibu.

An unnamed "source" told the Sunday People about Styles' supposed private birthday celebration with Kendall in Malibu: “Kendall was really keen to make Harry’s birthday a memorable one. Her dad Bruce owns an incredible clifftop holiday home in California which has amazing views. The secluded house is perfect for them to spend quality time together. It’s also ideal for a party with Kendall’s sisters.”

Oh, really? Too bad nobody told this "source" that Kendall was in New York City on Styles' birthday. And if Styles was with her in New York, he did a pretty good job at hiding himself.

Kendall's sisters, in case you didn't know, are Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner. Sounds like this "source" has a very active imagination if he or she wants people to believe that Styles spent his 20th birthday partying with the Kardashian/Jenner sisters at Bruce Jenner's mansion Malibu.

And if you believe this "source," Kendall is planning to throw Styles a birthday party in London later this month too.

As previously reported, Styles refuses to be on the Kardashian/Jenner family's reality shows such as "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

Kendall and Styles have been seen on "dates" since November 2013, although they will not publicly confirm or deny that they are a couple. Ever since he found worldwide fame with One Direction (the biggest selling global act from "The X Factor"), Styles has refused to publicly name anyone whom he has dated since he became a celebrity. Many fans of One Direction are saying that Styles' relationship with Kendall is being faked as a "romance" for publicity purposes. When stories about Styles' "intimate dates" with Kendall Jenner look like they're being planted in the tabloids, it just adds to this speculation that the "romance" is a sham.

As of now, Styles remained low-key by not yet publicly revealing what he did on his 20th birthday. It's a big contrast to all the photos and media coverage of his 19th birthday in 2013, when he did all-night club-hopping in London with close friends (including Nick Grimshaw, James Corden and One Direction's Niall Horan) and partied with at least one stripper. Grimshaw later admitted in interviews that he hired for the stripper for the festivities, which took place over two nights. Reports of Styles' birthday celebrations in 2013 were all over the tabloids.

On Feb. 2, 2014, Styles did tweet a message thanking people for donating to the Believe in Magic charity for his birthday: "Just saw donations to @believeinmagicx for my birthday. Thank you.. You’re all very very kind and nice.xx.”
