Sings praises of Barack Obama...
The leader of the Democrats in the U.S. Senate has stated in a radio interview that "everybody ... [is] willing to pay more" in taxes to the government, as reported both by the right-of-center The Weekly Standard and also by the left-of-center Nevada Public Radio's KNPR on Oct. 24, 2013.
At the 12 minute mark of his interview with KNPR (click here for audio of the interview) Senator Harry Reid opined that the the American worker is not only willing to send more of their earnings to government, they want to.
Specifically, the senior senator from the Silver State was quoted as saying:
...everybody else, including the rich people, are willing to pay more, they want to pay more.
Prior to Reid's head-scratching assertion that the slim majority of Americans who pay taxes are actually eager to send more of their stretched-thin take home pay to Washington, DC, the Democrat verbally lit into the government -subsidized radio host.
When asked what exactly Republicans would have to concede to get Medicare and Social Security cuts on the table, the Dem leader snapped:
You keep talking about Medicare and Social Security. Get something else in your brain.
Stop talking about that. That is not going to happen this time.
There is not going to be a grand bargain.
But Wait, There's More...
Saying Barack Obama hates confrontation, during the course of his interview the Nevada native described the Republican Party and Republicans in general as:
- Not rational.
- A bunch of insane people in the House of Representatives.
- The Party of Nothingism.
