Harry Reid apologizes for Obama racist comments. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada apologized Saturday for comments he made about Obama during the 2008 presidential bid.
Reid described Senator Obama as "light skinned" and "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one."
Reid’s Saturday statement read: "I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words. I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments."
"I was a proud and enthusiastic supporter of Barack Obama during the campaign and have worked as hard as I can to advance President Obama's legislative agenda."
President Obama has accepted Reid’s apology. The ‘net buzz on this story is hot because many people were not aware Reid made the comments in the first place, and because the apology was just issued Saturday.
