Harry Redknapp and Tottenham could land in demand star Eden Hazard claims player

French side Lille has enjoyed the rise to prominence of one of the games brightest stars in 21-year-old Belgian winger Eden Hazard.

Having helped to lead Lille to the French Ligue 1 Oranje title last season he returned hoping to keep the club at the top of the league but the sales of key players such as Gervinho to Arsenal and recently Moussa Sow to Fenerbahce in Turkey looks to have finally convinced the loyal youngster is it time to take his leave.

The Daily Mirror reports that this weekend Hazard announced that he would be leaving Lille at the end of the season and is hopeful of making a move to the English Premier League. While he has been linked to such clubs as Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and both Manchester United and City his comments surprised many:

"It could well be Tottenham," he said. "They are a great English club.

"I have said that I will go to play in England, and there are some very good players at Tottenham."

Those same sentiments were echoed by The Sun just the same this morning of February 14, 2012 and it continues to look a tough race for his signature.

Before these comments were released many thought that despite the player wanting a move to England he was for sure going to end up making a major money move to Spain to Real Madrid or to a major market club such as AC Milan or Inter Milan in Italy.

However, the likelihood that he is now destined for the English Premier League looks much more possible that it did a day removed from Valentine's Day.
