Potterheads will be happy to know that ABC Family Channel is hosting a Harry Potter Weekend event next week. This one is a four-day-long weekend running from Friday through Monday. Fans will be able to spend the entire weekend immersed in Faerie through the beloved magical movies.

The Harry Potter movie franchise is based on the series of seven Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, which have become classic works of fairy literature for children and young adults. The Potter saga follows the iconic fairy-story arc wherein the protagonist travels to Faerie (called the wizarding world in the Potter series) where his life is in danger, and he is forever changed because of his magical experiences. Harry could also be considered a fairy changeling because he is a magical being brought from Faerie by Dumbledore and Hagrid and left to be raised in the mundane world by non-fairy folk.
