'Harry Potter': Tom Felton, 'Draco' scared of 'Snape,' Alan Rickman (video)

'Harry Potter': Tom Felton, 'Draco,' scared of 'Snape,' Alan Rickman (video) -- Appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday night, actor Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, scared he was frightened of the actor who plays complicated Professor Snape, Alan Rickman. Mr. Felton was on the program to promote the latest Harry Potter film based on the books, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Jay Leno commented that Alan Rickman is one of his favorite actors, and he makes a good villain in the movie.  Mr. Leno wondered if he ever "intimidated" Tom Felton, especially when he as a child acting in the films. Tom Felton agreed about the actor's talent. "He's my hero," he said.

About the intimidation factor, he said, "Are you joking? I spent a good five years not being able to say anything to him other than [with head down, and rushed, hushed voice], 'Good morning, Alan,' and that was about as far as I got."

Then he told a story about a scene where Snape is walking down a corridor with his cape flowing out behind him, and they are supposed to be following closely. Mr. Felton said that Alan Rickman turned to the young actors and said before they shot the scene, "Don't. Step. On my effing cloak."

"Of course we didn't know if it was a joke or not," Mr. Felton said.  Then, he said the director told the children to get up real close behind Snape, and he said, of course, it was the first thing he did.

Tom Felton plays Harry Potter's classmate who is drawn to the "dark side." Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 opens Friday.
