'Harry Potter' marathon leads to eighth and final film

With only 21 days remaining to the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2, AMC Theaters has announced a special marathon of the first seven films in the series, culminating with the midnight release of the final film in RealD® 3D.

The marathon will begin on Monday, July 11 at 6pm with the first two films, and each night after will showcase the next two films in the series. The schedule is as follows:

Monday, July 11 - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at 6pm, followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

Tuesday, July 12 - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at 6pm, followed by Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Wednesday, July 13 - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at 6pm, followed by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Thursday, July 14 - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 at 9pm, followed by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (at midnight, July 15).

Pricing for the complete 4-day marathon is $45, which includes admission to all eight films, a commemorative lanyard, and retrospective booklet. AMC StubsTM members can purchase the package at a $5 discount, but must purchase those tickets at the Box Office. Moviegoers who do not wish to see the previous films can also purchase tickets for Thursday night's showings of Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2 only, for $20. Tickets will go on sale next week.

The only theater in the Atlanta area presenting the marathon is AMC Parkway Pointe 15, located on Cobb Pkwy.
