"Harry Potter" is one of the most influential young adult fiction series ever. The books and movies were loved by millions, and mourned after the last book and movie was created. But could it all be a hoax?
"I always said that I would only revisit the wizarding world if I had an idea that I was really excited about," Rowling recently stated, "and this is it."
It is neither a sequel, or a prequel, but a spin off on a spin-off book. The news is: Warner Brothers is hard at work, making a screen adaption to her spin-off book, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". Warner has announced that this will be the first movie in a whole new series.
"An idea took shape that I couldn't dislodge," Rowling said. She negotiated with Warner Bros, and will now be making her screen-play debut, writing the script for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".
This has the potential to be a great extension of the famed "Harry Potter" series, and will bring a little bit of magic back to life in our muggle world.
"Harry Potter" is still a smashing hit and one of the most memorable series in YA fiction history. It has sculpted many lives, helped teen's imaginations grow, and provided hope where there once was none. To try and bring it back could be a hit or miss.
How will this new series influence in the YA world? Only time will tell.
