'Harry Potter': 'Deathly Hallows, Part 1' premieres in London (photos) -- It will be the second to last world premiere of the Harry Potter series of films, but Part 1 premiered in London Thursday to a wet but enthusiastic crowd. The event took place at Odeon Leicester Square.
The film’s stars – Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson – were all in attendance as were several other character actors from the series, including Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright, Helena Bonham Carter, and Jason Isaacs. Voldemort villain, Ralph Fiennes was there as was author J. K. Rowling, on whose wizard novels the films are based.
Each participant on the red carpet wore the “red poppy” characteristic of Londoners on Armistice Day, November 11th. The poppy commemorates fallen service members from World War I.
The London premiere marks the world premiere of the film based on the seventh novel of the Harry Potter series.
It has been a decade now since the Harry Potter films began being adapted from the Harry Potter novels. In that time, audiences have literally seen the child actors grow up on screen. Daniel Radcliffe is now 21; Rupert Grint is 22; and Emma Watson is 20.
