Harry Fry to train Rock on Ruby

Harry Fry will train 2012 Champion Hurdle winner Rock on Ruby who was previously under the tutelage of Paul Nicholls at Seaborough Manor in Dorset. Racing tipsters give Rock on Ruby a 9.8 chance to reclaim the Champion Hurdle next year.

“I want to thank my landlord Richard Barber very much for the opportunity to take out a licence at Seaborough and set up Harry Fry Racing,” the 25-year-old Fry told sportinglife.com. “Having been part of the team at Seaborough for many years it is a real honour to start my training career here. I hope to have about 20 in training next season, including Rock On Ruby, and can't wait to get started.”

In other news, Famous Name will seek a third consecutive win in the Jockey Club Of Turkey Meld Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday. Jockey Pat Smullen’s seven-year-old is trained by Dermot Weld and has won 17 of his 34 races.

An impressive 10 wins came in Group 3 competition and Famous Name will be among the solid contenders at Leopardstown. “What more can you say about him? He's a great horse and he seems in good form,” said Smullen.
