With the passing of the 4th of July comes the kickoff to barbecue season.
There’s nothing quite like grilling outdoors in the summer months. Having a group of friends over and dining al fresco on the deck is one of the best things to do once the weather gets warm.
To kick it off right, we recommend ordering up a Sausage Sampler from Harry & David.
Designed for every taste bud in mind, the sampling contains four Andouille sausage, four Italian sausage, four chicken sausage with spinach and feta and four bratwurst with cheddar and jalapeño.
We loved the coarse grained Andouille sausage, a delicious smoked Cajun bratwurst made with pork, garlic, pepper, onions, wine and spices. The pork Italian-style sausage can be grilled up, topped with onions and peppers and served in a roll.
Grill and slice up the Mediterranean-inspired spinach and feta chicken sausage and serve with toothpicks as an appetizer. Our favorite was the cheddar and jalapeño sausage, made with pork, grated cheddar cheese, minced jalapeño and garlic, which we served with a side of hot sauce for dipping.
