Harrison Ford, the original "Star Wars" series Han Solo, is set to star again for the new "Star Wars: Episode 7" according to a report by Latino Review on Feb. 15. It all started with an ad about the new movie and they almost casually reported that Ford would indeed be in the new movie that Disney has in the works. Technically, it is not actually official, however fans of the series are stoked about the likelihood of seeing Solo again.
The actor who played Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill, stated last year in a discussion that he and Carrie Fisher had met up with George Lucas about the new movies, but he wouldn't go into the exact detail of whether or not they might be starring as older versions of Luke and Leia. The reports came out after Lucas announced that he'd sold Lucasfilm to Disney for a massive sum of $4 billion.
A Lucas biographer who wrote an unauthorized book on George Lucas mentioned to The Wrap that the new trilogy presents Luke Skywalker in his 30s or 40s and that Disney had planned to pick up where "Return of the Jedi" ended. So maybe the new films will be about middle-aged Jedis. Carrie Fisher mentioned last fall:
"I like the idea of being Mrs. Solo and we've just fought and fought and I killed him."
A lot of questions were swirling around on the Internet on Friday such as: Do we actually want to see everyone so old? Will it be fun to watch? Or just a depressing explanation on the nature of time? And how in the world are those aging space warriors going to save the universe this time around? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
